OUR ANNUAL ROVING NATIVITY …

Every year, the story of the Nativity is re-enacted somewhere in the village of Wootton … using REAL people, a REAL baby and a REAL donkey!

Together, we walk through the village with Mary, Joseph and the donkey … to find the stable and hear the Christmas story.

A lively and ever-popular event, there will be the chance to join in the carol-singing, and experience some of the true spirit of Christmas!

When is the next Roving Nativity??

Put this date in your diary – Friday 15th December 2017

The Roving Nativity is on the move again!
This year, we are starting from the grassy area by Whitehead Crescent in St Edmund’s Walk.  Meet there at 6pm for the first part of the story. Bring your lantern or torch!
The procession will then wind its way down St Edmund’s Walk with Mary, Joseph and the donkey … and the rest of the play – with the shepherds, angels, wise men, baby and all –  will be performed at the stable scene in the playground of the Old School in New Road.
The donkey has agreed to come! Do join us!

Roving Nativity 2015:

The procession wound its way down from the Cedars led by Mary, Joseph and the donkey and accompanied by children carrying lanterns. A large crowd gathered around the stable scene in Brannon Way carpark to watch the story unfold and join in the singing.

Afterwards many of them went over to the Community Centre to join in the fun there, enjoy seasonal refreshments and visit charity stalls (and Father Christmas) to music provided by the Methodist Ukulele Group.
Congratulations to organisers and participants alike.
