Baptism and Thanksgivings
Baptism signals the start of an amazing journey of faith, and it is therefore a very special day.
Services of Baptism can be conducted for babies, young children, teens and adults, because all are welcome. It’s never too late, or a person too old, to be baptised!
As our bodies mature and grow, so does our faith. The maturing journey of faith is something you will share with your child by:
– helping them learn more about their Christian faith
– praying for them during the ups and downs of their lives
– showing them in practical ways how to make good choices in life
– and supporting them when they ask ‘big questions’ about faith, hope, life, and love.
During all the phases of life, the church is here to support you and pray for you, as you take on this beautiful but demanding role of supporting your child through their life and faith journey.
Not everybody wants to make the promises that are within the Baptism service , so an alternative is available which is called a service of Thanksgiving.
This service has greater flexibility with its vows and promises, so it can be more ‘shaped’ by your own family’s faith journey.
Baptism is a sign of becoming part of the church, and consequently Baptisms and Thanksgivings usually take place just after our morning Sunday services at 11am.
